The Board of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC has appointed Dr. Chris Hacker to the role of Registrar and CEO effective 1 March 2019.
Chris brings more than 35 years of dentistry practice and seven years with the College to this role, both of which contribute to his deep understanding of the complexities of health provision and regulation. He first joined the College as a Complaint Investigator in 2011 and later took on the role of Policy & Practice Advisor. Chris was Deputy Registrar before becoming Acting Registrar in April 2018.

The deadline to renew your registration or certification is
today: Friday, 1 March. Log in to your account on the CDSBC website to complete
your renewal and make your payment. If you do not renew on time, you are not
permitted to practise until you have reinstated and paid the additional
reinstatement fee. If it is determined you have practised with a lapsed
registration or certification, a formal complaint may be brought forward to the
complaints department.

Improved
health outcomes for the public, strengthening stakeholder relationships,
embracing leading regulatory practices and stronger governance are at the core
of CDSBC's 2019-22 Strategic Plan.
All the activities within the
strategic plan will move the College towards our vision of public protection,
regulatory excellence and optimal health. This plan will
inform decision-making over the next three years and will be used to
measure our progress.

Close of nominations for the Board Election is 14 March at 4:30 pm. Nominations are being accepted for the following positions:

- Dentist, District 2 (North)
- Dentist, District 3 (Southern Interior)
