2018/19 Board Election Results

Please note: in the version of the newsletter that was distributed on 18 May, the position of Treasurer was missing from the list of positions that were filled by acclamation. This has been corrected below.

The ballot count was held 17 May 2018. Below are the results:

Dr. Jeff Coil (ELECTED)
Dr. Andrea Esteves

Certified Dental Assistant
Ms. Sabina Reitzik (ELECTED)
Ms Arlene D. Cearns
Ms. Suzanne Judge

The following positions were filled by acclamation: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Dentist (District 1: Fraser Valley), Dentist (District 4: Vancouver), and Dentist, Certified Specialist.

These terms take effect 1 July 2018. You can read more on the election page.

Consultation Opportunity: Vancouver and Victoria

We need your feedback on proposed changes to the quality assurance (QA) program. Since the revised program will change the QA requirements for all dentists, dental therapists, and CDAs we are hosting a series of sessions around the province to walk you through the proposed changes and to gather your input.

The first two sessions are:

Vancouver (almost full)

Victoria

Wednesday, 30 May
6-8 pm (light meal served at 5:30pm)

Holiday Inn Vancouver-Centre
711 W. Broadway (at Heather Street)
Vancouver, B.C.

Wednesday, 27 June
6-8 pm (light meal served at 5:30pm)

Inn at Laurel Point (downtown Victoria)
680 Montreal Street
Victoria, B.C.


These sessions are eligible for two continuing education credits. They are free to attend and include a light meal, but you must reserve your seat. Log in to your account to register for these sessions.

Join us at the AGM and Board Meeting

Registrants and the public are welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting and the open portion of the June Board meeting. If you plan to attend either event in person, please RSVP to Nancy Crosby, Manager of the CEO's Office, at ncrosby@cdsbc.org by 7 June.

Staffing Update: Acting Director of Professional Practice


Dr. Meredith Moores has been appointed to oversee the complaints team as CDSBC’s Acting Director of Professional Practice. This follows Dr. Chris Hacker’s recent appointment into the role of Acting Registrar. Meredith has been with the College for four years as a Complaint Investigator, she brings extensive clinical and academic experience in both private and public spheres of dentistry.
