CDSBC presented an Save a Life: The Dentist’s Role in the Early Detection of Oral Cancer during the Vancouver & District Dental Society's Midwinter Clinic. The presentation was filmed and the video has been published as an educational resource and online course.
This presentation focuses on how early detection of oral cancer can save a life. Dentists have an excellent opportunity to screen for oral cancer. The responsibility lies with both general practitioners and specialists alike. The panel discussion is on early detection, which includes biopsy management and sample protection, and the psychosocial impacts of a cancer diagnosis.
The course is available to view free of charge. Registrants who would like two continuing education (CE) self-study credits must successfully complete and submit the post test to CDSBC.
Note that, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all online courses are currently free to facilitate online learning during this time.
