Board Elections

The CDSBC Board is responsible for ensuring that the College meets its mandate of public protection under the Health Professions Act. CDSBC is governed by a 12-member Board composed of two CDAs, one dental therapist, three dentists and six public members.

There will be no Board election in 2022, per an amendment to Section 2.07 of the CDSBC bylaws dealing with the College Board (terms of office of elected board members), which was completed in February 2022.

The amendment has the effect of postponing a board election for 2022 by allowing the term of office for one registrant board member whose term expires on June 30, 2022 to be extended by one year. Given that CDSBC is pursuing amalgamation to create a single oral health regulatory college with the three other oral health colleges in BC, the amendment will provide stability and consistency for the governance of CDSBC to successfully support the transition to amalgamation.
